Everything we have achieved, all kicked off in 1980. A group of likeminded Aviculturalists wanted to create a bird club that could provide so much more, and today we’re proud to say we do!

The journey we’ve travelled is evident by what we have to offer now.

All those years ago, we had a small sales table that used to travel to meetings; now we have evolved it into Parrot Supplies Australia, with over 1,500 Avicultural products and a comprehensive online store.

We used to just have small, intimate meetings. Now we run some of the largest bird events in Australia! We love to be at the front of Avicultural education and see our duty as to use these events to promote best practice.

On the same journey, we learned that the responsibility of being an Avicultural club means that conservation is of the utmost importance. That is why we began The Parrot Trust of Australia, an independent benevolent trust that directly supports the safeguarding of Australian Native bird species. 

Obviously today, we are much larger than the grass roots of the Society. Our Management Committee are a diverse group of individuals that volunteer their own time for the continued evolution and prosperity of the Club. By the same token, there are many people who have done so much across the history of The Parrot Society of Australia.
