The Parrot Society of Australia is hosting its bi-monthly General Meeting on Saturday 20th October. This is a fantastic, free, educational platform for those interested in bird-life to come an listen to experts in their chosen field; as well as network with likeminded individuals.
For this Event we are not just offering one presentation, but multiple!
Cloncurry Parrots - Peter Smith
Peter Smith is a well-known, and seasoned Aviculturalist. His experience with Australian Natives is impressive, with him recently presenting on Gang-Gang Cockatoos at the 2018 International Parrots Convention!
For our free October General Meeting, Peter will be discussing Cloncurry Parrots and their colour mutations! An impressive Australian Ringneck, and certainly one we can't wait to learn more about!
Pionus Parrots - Garry Stack
This Central-Southern American species of bird is very similar to the Amazons, although slightly smaller and with a variety of different species in their Genus.
Underrated, but certainly very rare. They are a very unknown species in Australian Aviculture, so this presentation will be new to a number of us.
Fig Parrots - Des Boorman
This has to be one of the most intriguing of Australia's Native Parrots. A tough bird to keep, with its particular dietary requirements for successful breeding and health, but a visually stunning species.
Des is regarded as one of the leading Aviculturalists with experience with Fig Parrots, so we're excited as a community to be welcoming him to our free event in October.
As always, we will be hosting our General Meeting at Parrot Supplies Australia. They'll be open from 9am, and we'll kick of the meeting at 3pm.
Don't forget that we will have free food, refreshments, and a barbecue available after the meeting, as well as Raffles on the day!
We look forward to seeing you there!
